oh yeah baby these brake calipers are unnecessarily extra lol, also 28mm continental granprix all-rounders mount to 29.4mm on archetypes, 0.6mm smaller than continental's tire that's one segment down, the grandsport race which mounted to 30.0mm. I can't compare the tires since I haven't taken the bike out yet

Oops, the headset was JIS, and I only had ISO ones laying around.
Tange MA60, looked kind of cool, rinko style, but it had little spots of rust on the chrome. It's one of those things, you can temporarily clean it up, but the plating is compromised and it will always re-rust. Had to order one.

Yeah, it's a pair of Cyclone Mk-II derailers, FD-2300 & RD-3700. I quite like them.
They're well made, the specs work for me, and they look good. I think that checks all the boxes.

>have one of those cranks
Old SR cranks, 'Super Custom' on the side, but that sounds fancier than what they are. This is before 110/74 won out, so the rings are an obsolete size, 118.
I'll see how they polish up, and maybe put them in the bin for later ss/fixed use.

My instinct is to say "not possible", but I guess the US armed forces keeps pumping out pilots, oversupplying the market.

Sorry ur competing against welfare recipients :(

Post trains that are just a bit weird or different from the norm. All trains welcome, passenger, freight, locomotive, rolling stock, etc.

Saw this one in the Netherlands and it's a bit odd.

>Inb4: they need to put the engine or electrical components somewhere

I understand your autism, but it's actually not a bad solution. The advantage is that except the far ends of the cars theyhave completely level floor at platform height, while other EMUs have a much more irregular floor height with ramps and protrusions hidden below the seats and whatnot. From that perspective I actually find them superior, although I think by now this is an obsolete model.

The new TGV-M have a little "wagon" named greffon just behind the two loco, it have several advantages, first, until now due to design the TGV must have been two types of coachs now all the coach are the same and shorten by 1m and it reduce cost increase fexibility and also shorten the loco by 4 meters so no space lost, second, technical equipments are moved in those greffon and above all they are equiped with big batteries allowing autonomous of the train for few hours in case of powerline shutdown and the ability for the train to move at low speed to a station or a functional power line. This capacity can also be used in case of overloading of the electric network to smooth consumption.

Considering that Olympus593 was developed in the 60's, 50 years of advances in metallurgical technology could improve the fuel efficiency of the engine by about 20%
>>
>>1989711
Concorde was economically inefficient because it was built in the 1960's. An old airframe with inefficient engines that guzzled fuel.

A newer design can be more efficient; in fact the Concorde B was always planned to be built which would have had a more efficient wing profile and engines (no afterburners) and used much less fuel, but it obviously never got built because nobody bought the original.
>>
>>1990857
>only 20%
They already knew how to increase efficiency in the 593 by 25% back in the 70's. They just never built them because nobody needed them.

I am going to bump to say that the XB-1 has flown twice and has not exceeded Mach 1. It might be too early to call, but after nearly seven years of delays, I think Boom is looking more like Bust.

In all honesty, we are best looking more comfortable aircraft with a wider range of performance than these supersonic jobs. Essentially create an "almost anywhere" airliner that seats 300+ passengers, needs 5000' or less for takeoff and landing and can fly transatlantic (East Coast U.S to U.K, not St. Johns to Shannon or something similar).

Delta Cycle and Dimension stem raisers are being recalled because they can shift during use and pose a fall hazard.

The recall affects about 500,000 units sold in the U.S., and about 8,510 sold in Canada. The affected Delta Cycle stem raisers are model numbers TD3318B, TD3318S, TD3418B, and TD3418S. The Dimension model numbers are SM1977 and SM1979. All of the models were sold in black and silver and measure between 5 and 7 inches high.

Consumers should stop using the recalled models and contact Delta Cycle to schedule a free repair at an independent bike dealer. Delta Cycle can be reached at 800-474-6615 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday; by email or online.

No injuries have been reported, but there has been one report of a stem riser shifting during use. The stem risers were sold at REI and local bicycle stores nationwide and online at designbydelta.com and Amazon.com from January 1998 through January 2024 for about $46

I don't think that's a statistically relevant problem, but let's suppose it was, if some 70 year old MAGA boomer chose to walk past the rows and rows of upright bitch bikes and went straight for the TT bike with the Chris Boardman position and hurt his back that's his problem, "the industry" didn't force him to do that, he did that to himself

80's jap touring bikes.

I am considering getting one of these things, but the price is keeping me back, and some of the constraints, e.g.: wheels, proprietary parts, expensive accessories, etc...

The thing that keeps me orbiting towards a Brompton instead of the countless chinkshit knockoffs is the reputation. It seems everyone has mods, solutions, know-how to how to get the best out of the Brompton.

So what's your take /n/?

They chose the white color because the train need less power for air con, the TGV-M is meant to be more cost and energy effective.

Is this a copypasta? I can't believe you haven't utterly destroyed your knees and joints. I don't know which alps you are talking about, but there cities are usually in the valley and the flattest you could find. I live in a hilly area where cities are really on hills, and I ride normal modern bikes. I lived in super flat cities, used fixed and 3 speeds and hated it.
So don't listen to this man from 20 years ago. Choose freedom, choose gears.
>>
>>1995056
Towns here tend to be on the hillside, on the slope and you have to go across hills and ridges to go places anyways. Naturally only the fewest roads here are passes and infrastructure has developed to follow the path of least resistance, which usually is next to the streams along the valleys and around the mountains.
My knees used to be chronically hurt for years but that was when I only road derailleur and IGH. Fixed was a thing I tried because of my knees and while fixed was not part of the solution I liked it and stuck with it for daily commuting.
Town in my area are definately not flat.
>>
>>1995043
if you want a challenge, you should still run gears. 11-25 cassette and 54-40+ chainrings and you can challenge yourself all the way.
>>
>>1995043
This is some quality cope
>>
>>1995100
This is a good compromise. Biggest thing is make sure the friction shifter is tight enough. I noticed some chain sounds while standing up big hills since the bike flexes back and forth.
A rider can always experiment single speed/fixed later, or 13 speed electronic shifting later too.

>no maintenance required
>can't be stolen
>inexpensive
>no storage needed
Is this the best form of commuting?

For daily commuting it's better to use your own bike since these are pretty slow. But they are incredibly usefull in some situations. In my city they just cost a few euros for a yearly pass. I love them, every 1st world city needs these.
>>
They were removed from my city because no one rode them. Not even the dockless ebikes have taken off. Rental E-Scooters are very popular however and people tend to try them out, then graduate to buying their own.

The burned railroad ties at the border between two states represents the power of the Federal Government to regulate interstate commerce. They are arranged in a christ-like cross symbolizing the insertion of religion into secular affairs. The graffiti symbolizes a toilet stall in Pompeii and the chains represent something else I'm sure. Looks comfy. Now would I ride a fixed gear bike with it like the ad? no, but a mtb, commuter, or belt drive would be optimal in that setup for rainy days.

Think we just had the last rain of the season today. I went out for a short exploration ride and found the gov't blocked off one set of local dirt jumps. Kinda lame but there was a homeless dude, downed trees, and shit being piled up there so I hope that gets cleaned up.
Mostly a recovery ride since I had a hard ride yesterday.

Basically, it's worth doing a full overhaul if you want to learn to wrench on bikes. The few times i've tried assembling a bike like that for a customer, new out of the box, it has needed a full overhaul.

It's an opportunity to learn to wrench.

Look at RJ the bike guy on youtube.
