I really really really could not be bothered to draw today.
>>7158274it's great that you've accepted your inferiority
>>7158274do it anyway, hardest part is starting

Guys, if you draw better you'll also get more attention (on the site). You don't have to debase yourself by shitposting here to get your fix
Whew boy, is this guy the most overrated painter of all time or what?
>>7157858>he doesn't feel good while doing his art>not only that, he also thinks that's wrongAbsolute NGMI behavior here, lmao
>>7157879Where did I say any of that?
>>7157654You're a faggot OP and I don't care if you like pussy you're still a huge faggot.>>7157779>FPBP>>7157797PYW
He was significant because he developed a technique that turned painting into a craft. Easily replicated, aesthetically pleasing for the most part, a relaxing process. There's nothing objectively wrong with that. He never reached the upper tiers of creative expression but at least the dude seemed chill and happy, unlike most tryhard artists who seem to be in a state of perpetual torment
>>7157654>chill dude who had fun, smiled and tried to show others how to do the same>/ic/:>WHAT A FUCKING HACK>WHAT A SCAMMER>WHAT A SHILL>FUCKING SUCKS>CANT PAINTget therapy
I'm beginning to think none of you anons actually enjoy drawing
>>7158177>sunk too much time and money into it to quitIf I could go back in time I'd learn to code instead.
>>7158157Hate studying (often not always) like working off imagination, but I need to do more studies to get better at working on my own stuff.
>>7158236It's actually way easier, not even a contest. I could probably refresh all my old physics uni knowledge too (and be better at it than I was back then) in the year I've been sucking at learning this skill. I could be close to fluent in Chinese at this point. Drawing is stupidly hard.
>>7158157wtf how did they teach that cat to draw?
>>7158157You can't improve if you enjoy it.
How many artists are you supposed to study and shamelessly copy style-wise once you have basic enough fundamentals to draw from imagination decently?
Exactly 33 artists.Embrace the illuminati.
>>7158309The rules state 7, but screw the rules, I have money!
>>7158309What kind of a question is this? Copy to learn, draw from imagination to practice.
What are some things/aspects of art that no one (including this board) is really honest about?
>>7158318I feel you. It's the price we pay for the freedom to say whatever we want I suppose
>>7158312Truth and fourth post best post

>>7158296Drawing is a miserable, pointless activity and many, especially here, don't actually enjoy doing it.Even the good, pro artists are fucking emotional wrecks
AI can not be stopped and too many here are still burying their head in the sand about it
No /TRAD/ general? Aight, this will be the trad general. Post your recent trad artworks/WIPs in this thread.I will begin. Will really appreciate critiques.
>>7156471Yes but I made them using cyanotype. And it has been pretty good so far. The tricky part RN is dealing with the extras in inventory. I only have so much space!>>7156501I wanna see em Anon. I like looking at people's set up!

I painted little robot. Pretty happy with it, though a lot is kind of wonky. Any thoughts? I want to improve.

Is copying, and understanding, Bridgman's over and over actually valuable?I heard some artists talking about it, what do you guys think?
>>7157972since when was posting your work online narcissistic? Maybe you're just insecure about your own skills, anon

I don't smoke, but nothing has made me more tempted to smoke than being a painter. I'll finally finish a painting, it's sitting there on the easel and I'm just looking at it, and I want nothing more than a few cigarettes. It would be immaculate.

somebody please recommend me a simple animation software (for linux)i just want to drag+drop frames that i draw in my dedicated art softwareall apps i have found so far are either not working for linux or way too overcomplicatedi also spent one hour and two tutorials trying to create a simple loop out of my 5 measly drawn frames, and FAILED... blender is such unusable garbage >:(pic related is a literally-who app i found googling that does what i want (import frames, drag+drop) but is sadly not meant for sub-one-second frame duration... it gets very tiresome dragging clips to be precisely the length i need and not leave a one-pixel-gap between the automatically aligning / snapping frames which results in flickering of the final videoplease help ;_;
>>7157905Tried Krita?
>>7157907oh damn krita can animate? i did not know that. i only tried krita for a couple of days for "regular" drawing before uninstalling it. i was pretty disappointed with how clunky it is (in some areas). i will give it another try. i hope its not unusably bloated too...by the way, this is my first (real) attempt at a short animation. please dont take offense since it is loli...https://litter.catbox.moe/p672pg.webmi already learned a lot and would do many things differently on my next attempt. still any outside feedback is very much appreciated!
>>7157916I'm pretty sure every animation program is clunky in a way or another, for some reason after literal decades of development there isn't a software that just works
>>7157921agreed, maybe I'm nostalgic about Flash but I do miss it a little because I think it would still hold up UX wise. It was far from perfect tho ngl

This thread smells like a goon cave. Being miserable toward each other accomplishes nothing including bringing joy to your own life. I know the dopamine bump from others responding to you is desirable, but there are far better, more reliable, and noble sources. Get some sunlight and fresh air if it exists in your nation. Or keep greentexting, that seems like time well spent. You’re totally owning the _________

Frankly speaking, is it worth pursuing a career in the Japanese animation industry? It seems like storyboarding, illustration, concept art, and all other art fields have dried up, in terms of work. However, the Japanese animation industry is underemployed and is constantly looking for work, to the point where they will hire translators just so they can work with foreign animators who don't speak Japanese. I really want to make art a career for myself. I don't see a future for myself in comics or storyboarding, but animation seems like a ripe, open field. Furthermore, I enjoy drawing anime girls, and I really like watching Sakuga Mad videos on youtube. I think animation is about one of the most difficult and noble things you can do with drawing.Has anyone else had thoughts like this? Is anyone else in the midst of pursuing a Japanese animation career? What's your thoughts on this?
>>7156978Japan is hiring a ton of gaijin to work in animation now. You don't even need to be fluent in japanese.
>>7157440>大和語
>>7158114not for long if the japanese yen continues to be dogshit. There are talks recently that the industry is burning more money than ever outsourcing the animation work to westerners and that if this continues then something has to give. Many are uncertain whether this means having to slash production on seasonal animation works or to cut down on labor (or both)
>>7156978Why are there so many retards on /ic/ giving advice on things they have zero experience in? Like, this dude is probably struggling through keys to drawing and larping advice on the japanese animation industry like he has 20 years in the field.
i knew a guy that made a career out of it, I think he lived there for a bit but returned to his hometown again, but still working remote. hes pretty famous now but when I ask him about it he always sounds very exhaustedbtw I dont understand why japanese studios arent using ML to draw inbetweens, they rotoscoping and 3d already so wouldnt make any differnence in that sense
